    Jewel cichlid young grow quite fast, but it will probably take them over a year to reach adult size. Be aware that in some cases they have been known to be aggressive, so if you may to reconsider keeping it depending on what else you have in the tank.

    As for feeding them they will eat your regular cichlid flakes or pellets. I would recommend one of the following, which can be bought online or at your local fish store.
